Best Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner from Bread and Ocean, Manzanita Oregon
Bread and Ocean Baked Goods

Bread and Ocean. Notice: Closed.

You may have heard of Bread and Ocean, very popular Manzanita restaurant and bakery. The creation of long time Manzanita Restauranteur Julie Barker (also know as the proprietor of the former beloved Manzanita restaurant named Blue Sky), Bread and Ocean recently was purchased by Linda and George Reddish. They're new to the Manzanita restaurant scene, but happily they didn't make a lot of changes to the favorites on the menu, but have been slowly updating this institution by expanding the seating area, adding weekend dining, and expanding their beer and wine list. And their evolving menu.

Favorites include baked goods and gluten free selections. You'll note the crowds can be heavy during high season. Visit for the good food, mingle with the locals, and relax, Manzanita Beach style!

Insider's Tip: The perfect spot to pick up goods for an incredible beach picnic!

Best Mexican food in Manzanita Oregon Left Coast Siesta
Fast Delicious Mexican Food - Left Coast Siesta

Left Coast Siesta Left Coast Siesta is unlike most fast food Mexican Restaurants - but it is fast food, Manzanita Restaurant Beach style! Another favorite spot that draws visitors regularly from Portland, Left Coast has grown from a little hole in the wall next to Mother Nature's Store to their current location next to Howell's Plaza.

Offerings such as organic rice and beans and real tequila lime chicken (white meat only) simmered to perfection draw locals and visitors alike. Take notice - their web burritos are huge (you'll take home half). Don't skimp - be sure to get an extra order of chips with home made salsa and guacamole. You'll regret it if you don't!

Hours vary.

Great Beer at San Dune Pub Manzanita Oregon
Get Your Craft Beer on at San Dune Pub

Best Breakfast and Lunch at Yolk, Manzanita
Breakfast and Lunch at Yolk, Manzanita

Like most around here, we were surprised and saddened when one of our favorite Manzanita restaurants, Blackbird, closed. But we were happy to hear another Manzanita restaurant would be moving into the same spot.

Yolk serves breakfast and lunch only in a casual setting. Pick your own table, eat at the counter, or snag a seat a the "Chef's Counter" and watch them work! Guests to our oceanfront Manzanita vacation rentals report that Yolk "exceeds our expectations of dining at the coast, in service, quality, and value." All breads and pastries are house-made.

Enjoy traditional breakfast and lunch, such as the Biscuits and Gravy, in-house fennel sausage smothered in mushroom gravy over an open faced fresh biscuit, surrounded by fluffy scrambled eggs dressed up with fresh basil. And don't forget the craft cocktails!

Hours vary.

Wine Selection the Winery at Manzanita
Enjoying the Sun at the Winery At Manzanita

The Winery at Manzanita. We always welcome a new business in town. The Winery at Manzanita took awhile to create via crowdsourcing. We very much looked forward to their opening. Like many places, there have been a lot of good reviews and some not so wonderful.

We appreciate the casual ambiance of this Manzanita restaurant, garage doors that open during the good weather days so guests may gather around their fire pits and take advantage of the DIY s'more kits. They have a limited menu, are open for breakfast, and have a large wine selection.

Their wines may be a bit pricy, but as one reviewer mentioned, sometimes it's okay to pay premium in order to have access to businesses in a small town.

Give it a try and let us know what you think!

Open Sunday - Thursday, noon - 6:00 pm and Friday - Saturday, noon - 7:00 pm

Big Wave Cafe Manzanita Oregon
Tsunami Burger at Big Wave Cafe

Big Wave Cafe. Notice: While the original owners, the Williams family, closed the restaurant for good at the beginning of the Covid-19 epidemic, we're thrilled to announce that the Big Wave Cafe has new owners!

A family run Manzanita restaurant, headed up by Chef Brian Williams. On their website they describe their business as "The Big Wave Café is a Manzanita restaurant with a purpose -- to provide our customers with a taste of the Oregon Coast through the foods we serve, you´ll find the best of what´s seasonally fresh from local farms and fishers. We source as many of our food items as possible from Tillamook County. Food at the Oregon Coast is not only a necessity, but also a culture."

The Big Wave Cafe is more traditional fair, with Brian helming the kitchen, wife Carol out front charming guests with her wonderful pies and pastries, and son Sam general manager. You'll also find the Williams family working towards making the community a better place, with fundraisers for local food bank, US Coastguard station and veterans organizations.

Insider's tip: If you have one of those family members who just can't get enough to eat, have them order a Tsunami Burger. Those babies are huge!

A Mighty Thai Restaurant in Manzanita Oregon
A Mighty Thai Restaurant in Manzanita

The Happy Elephant (formerly A Mighty Thai).

How lucky is the Manzanita restaurant world to have a spot featuring both Thai and Vietnamese foods, and one that includes vegetarian and vegan offerings? Fresh ginger and curries are scrumptious, with a full bar for special occasions. Recently renamed, they're now offering Sushi, in addition to their regular menu items.

Even better, they stay open late, a rarity in small town Manzanita restaurants.

Co-owned by Joel Bernard (also co-owner of Sleepy Monk's Coffee in Cannon Beach) and Chef Joe Khongkhar Bongkhamsao, we're glad they chose Manzanita as the perfect spot for A Mighty Thai.

The last couple visits they've been extremely busy with short staff, a common occurrence on the north Oregon Coast. But we have faith they will maintain their quality - and every evening we drive by their parking lot is full!

Marzano's Pizza Manzanita OR
Marzano's Pizza and Manzanita Beach

Marzano's Pizza. Speaking of short staffing, it was a sad day for this Manzanita restaurant when Marzano's Pizza closed their dining room due to difficulty finding waitstaff, but happily their take out window is still thriving.

Be sure to call ahead and place your order as they tend to get busy.

This mainly vegetarian writer loves their Smoked Prosciutto Ham pie - garlic-herb olive oil sauce, mozzarella, paper thin slices of smoked prosciutto ham, roasted red onions, roasted red potato, and Montegrappa cheese - yum! We're also in love with their Insalata Grande Salad, especially the topping of nicoise olives, feta, sundried tomatoes, pepperoncini, and toasted pine nuts.
