Manzanita Restaurants Open For Thanksgiving 2018
Okay, here at Manzanita Beach Life, we’re a little biased about our Manzanita restaurants!
Most restaurants in the Manzanita Beach community are closed for the holiday.
One alternative is ordering a take out Thanksgiving Dinner. For a traditional dinner, try Manzanita Grocery & Deli, The Little Apple, our Manzanita grocery store, open 7:00 am – 3:00 pm Thanksgiving Day. For Thanksgiving 2018, at around $179 (less if you order early), your take out dinner will include a 12 – 14# Roasted Turkey with Dressing, 1.5 qt. Mashed Potatoes, 1.5 qt. Turkey Gravy, 1.5 pt. Cranberry Sauce, and 1 pt. Vegetables. Call (503) 368-5362 to find out details for Thanksgiving 2019 and to reserve your dinner.
Also available are extras for purchase by the pint or quart are Mashed Potatoes, Turkey Gravy, Dinner Rolls, Turkey Dressing, Fresh Cranberry Sauce, Chutney, and Corn.
You’ll also find delicious Apple, Pumpkin and Marion Berry Pies.
We typically order a couple wonderful salmon fillets, and smoke them, for our annual Beach Thanksgiving fish!
Take out dinner is a good option for those that don’t want to cook during their Manzanita Thanksgiving celebration. We traditionally stay at one of our Manzanita rentals and enjoy family and friends while dining next to Manzanita Beach views of the sparkling Pacific Ocean.

Did you hear about the helping hand Manzanita Grocery & Deli offered to those affected by the recent Manzanita Tornado, responders, and people helping with the clean-up effort? They were at the forefront of care and giving in the community (see the note, above, posted on the Manzanita Grocery & Deli door during the aftermath).
Sisters & Petes Coffee and Treats is taking pie pre-orders at their Manzanita bakery (have you tried their pies – delish!) for two sizes of pies: prices for Thanksgiving 2018 were $19.00 for a pie that serves 6 -8, or $6.00 for individual pies. All their regular pies will be available, and they’ll also take special requests.

The Bunkhouse. Between Manzanita Beach and Nehalem, you’ll find The Bunkhouse. They’re open for your beach Thanksgiving breakfast on November 24th, then closed from 2:00 – 3:00 pm to prepare for their special beach Thanksgiving dinner, served from 3:00 – 8:00 pm, including scrumptious prime rib.

Mohler and Nehalem Restaurants Open For Thanksgiving 2018
Kendra's River Inn Food and Lodging. NOTE: For 2018 Kendra's is Closed for Thanksgiving Dinner. We're hoping they will be open again for Thanksgiving 2019!
Manzanita Beach is part of the very charming three village area of Manzanita Beach, Nehalem and Wheeler. Bisecting our area is the picturesque Nehalem River. And perched over the river in the tiny hamlet of Mohler is Kendra’s River Inn Food & Lodging.

Formerly the Nehalem River Inn, Kendra’s River Inn Food & Lodging is the new home of Kendra Hall, formerly of the well-known Tillamook restaurant Kendra’s Kitchen. Kendra took over the former Nehalem River Inn in early 2016, and is joined by daughter Galena and son Ben, a recent graduate of the Oregon Culinary Institute.

Buttercup Ice Creams and Chowder. Another yummy option is local favourite Buttercup. Do you remember owner Julie Barker, former owner of Blue Sky Cafe and Bread and Ocean, both Manzanita restaurant favorites?
Julie now has a thriving fresh chowder (yep, made to order) and frozen desert take out spot in Nehalem.
Lucky for us, in 2018 Julie is taking orders for either the entire beach Thanksgiving meal, or just the sides. Check out her menu on her website. Pizza Garden. In downtown Nehalem, the Pizza Garden is open for a special dinner. They are offering two seating's: 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Reservations required. (503) 368-7675
Rising Star Cafe. One of our favourites, Rising Star Cafe, opened for a Beach Thanksgiving Dinner 2017, and they've continued the tradition for Thanksgiving day 2018. Be sure to call ahead for reservations. This popular Oregon Coast restaurant fills up fast! (503) 368-3990

Sand Dollar Restaurant & Lounge, 210 SW 1st Ave,
As in prior years, Sand Dollar will be open for Thanksgiving. They will Smoked Turkey Dinner Special, a Ham Dinner Special and a Meatloaf Lunch/Dinner Special.

Pelican Brewing: Beach Thanksgiving buffet, 12:00 – 8:00 pm
The holidays are fast approaching! This year Pelican Brewing will offer their pub menu along with a few holiday specials sure to include favorite holiday fixings. They are not accepting reservations but will be seating the restaurant on a first come, first serve basis as they do every day of the year.

Chinook Winds Casino Buffet: On the way to the beach, Chinook Winds Casino Buffet serves a traditional Thanksgiving offering, including traditional Indian Fry Bread. There are many fans who flock to the Chinook Winds Casino Buffet - they love the tradition - and are thrilled the restaurant is open Thanksgiving Day 2018.
While many savour images of Thanksgiving dinners from their childhood, many prefer to be alone on Thanksgiving. Or many are alone on Thanksgiving not by choice.

Join in one of the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trots and walk or run with the gang. You'll find them listed on the local events calendars. Lots of fun for those alone on Thanksgiving.

Donate your time and help out at one of the Food Banks or Meals on Wheels, helping to serve dinner to others alone on Thanksgiving.
