In more of our Ask Manzanita Beach Life series, reader Tom K. asks: I've heard that Cleanline Surf in Cannon Beach is the nearest surf shop to Manzanita Beach for surf rental equipment. Is that right?

Actually Cleanline Surf is no longer the closest surf gear rental. Check out Bahama Mama's Bikes Boards and Beach Fare for surf gear in addition to boogie and skim boards. Be sure to call to find out availability of the gear you're looking for.

Cleanline Surf is an institution on the north Oregon coast, and rents surf equipment out of both their Cannon Beach shop, and the Cleanline Surf in Seaside (just north of the Safeway on Hwy. 101). They can "accommodate just about anyone", and claims to never run out of rental items due to their large inventory. Cleanline Surf also rents boogie and skim boards if you're interested in having fun closer to shore.
Cleanline Surf opened in 1980, is locally owned and operated, and is called the NW original surf shop. They carry the largest selection of surfboards and wetsuits in the area, as well as clothing, other equipment, and accessories. Cleanline Surf appeals to both the beginner and the more experienced surfer.
